Finally, Hobart!

Day 29: Hobart

We woke up somewhat leisurely this morning, after the last two crazy days, had some breakfast, and went to rent a car for our trip through Tasmania. The weather was sunny, but a rain cloud came out and we thought our plans were thwarted yet again! Thankfully, as we drove up to the summit of Mount Wellington, the skies cleared and we were able to take in some of the most stunning views of the surrounding mountains and towns. The mountaintop had a small accumulation of snow, and the weather at the top was ridiculously windy so we could barely walk for fear of being blown away! But we did manage to see all there was to see right before the clouds came rolling back in, shrouding everything in fog.

We headed back to town and stopped to do a beer tasting at a local brewery, before going for a late lunch at a restaurant near the docks. We walked around town a bit into the evening, and then went back and relaxed in our room for the night (where our luggage was thankfully awaiting us), and tried to book some more flights for after Tasmania.
